Step 1: Cleanse Your Face
After exercising, sweat, oil, and dirt can remain on your skin. Gently wash your face with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water to remove buildup without irritating the skin.
Step 2: Avoid Touching Your Face
Try not to touch your face with unwashed hands after exercising. Hands and shared gym equipment can carry dirt and bacteria that may contribute to clogged pores and irritation.
Step 3: Rehydrate and Moisturize
After cleansing, apply a lightweight moisturizer to help maintain your skin barrier. If your skin feels dry, choose a moisturizer containing ingredients such as glycerin, ceramides, or hyaluronic acid.
Step 4: Apply Sunscreen When Going Outdoors
If you exercise outside or plan to go outdoors afterward, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Reapply according to the product directions, especially if you have been sweating heavily.
